Facebook defends political ad policies

VTV.vn - Facebook CEO and co-founder Mark Zuckerberg on Thursday defended the social network's decision not to send speech from politicians to third-party fact-checkers, a move that's drawn scrutiny, especially from Democrats in the US.

He said he has considered banning political ads on Facebook, but he couldn't figure out where to draw the line and decided that doing so would favor incumbents and whomever the media chooses to cover. In recent weeks, Facebook has been under fire for its policy of allowing political ads that are misleading or contain lies. It's also been criticized for helping spread disinformation ahead of elections and allowing hate speech.
