VTV.vn - An exhibition, recalling Vietnamese revolutionary soldiers’ studying in prison during the resistance wars against colonialism and imperialism, officially opened at the Hoa Lo Prison Relic Site in Hanoi on August 28.

The exhibition was divided into three parts themed “Memories of school opening season”, “Turning prisons into revolutionary schools” and “Nurturing dreams”.

The documents and artefacts are expected to help visitors to learn more about the anti-illiteracy campaign of the Vietnamese people following the success of the August Revolution in 1945.

The exhibits also highlight the study movement of revolutionary soldiers in various prisons during the resistance wars against colonialism and imperialism. Classes in the prisons contributed to encouraging the spirit as well as nurturing the will of revolutionary soldiers.

Through the exhibition, visitors are also introduced to photos on humanitarian classes for students in remote and difficult areas.

At the opening ceremony, visitors had the chance to meet with historical witnesses and representatives of those who directly participated in the special classes in the past as well as volunteer agencies and units that have set up schools in remote areas or in hospitals.

The exhibition will last until December 31.
