VTV.vn - An exhibition, themed “President Ho Chi Minh - the founder of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam”, was held at the Presidential Palace in Hanoi on August 11.

The event is part of the activities to mark the 75th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19) and National Independence (September 2).

On display are nearly 100 photos, documents and publications highlighting President Ho Chi Minh’s great contribution to the revolutionary cause.

The exhibits are divided into three parts entitled: “Nguyen Ai Quoc returning to the fatherland and directly leading people to fight for independence”; “Ho Chi Minh – the founder of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam”; and “Activities marking national independence”.

According to the Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ta Quang Dong, through the exhibition, both domestic visitors and international friends have the chance to learn more about the historical significance of the August Revolution 1945, especially President Ho Chi Minh’s role in the establishment of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam (now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam), a progressive state which was consistent with the trend of the times.

On the occasion, a seminar was held with 38 memoirs featuring Uncle Ho’s great contributions as well as the application of his ideals in the cause of national construction and defence.
