VTV.vn - An exhibition showcasing nearly 200 historical artefacts, providing the public with a deeper understanding of Vietnam's heroic and arduous struggle for independence, is taking place at the Vietnam Women's Museum in Hanoi.

The event is co-hosted by the Vietnam Women's Museum and the Forever 20 Club to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 - December 22, 2024).

Entitled ‘Memories and Beliefs’, the exhibition introduces nearly 200 photos and original artefacts, including a blood-written enlistment letter, a diary from a female soldier, letters from fallen soldiers to their loved ones filled with longing and hope for reunion, and a harmonica played by a soldier beside a timed bomb to uplift his comrades' spirits.

The works on display also highlight the close relationship between the rear and the front lines and convey a message to today’s youth about living with dreams, ambitions, and beliefs to live a life worth living.

As part of the exhibition, a seminar titled ‘There Was a Time Like That’ was held, featuring four guests, three of whom directly participated in combat during the resistance against the US.

The exhibition is open at the Vietnam Women's Museum, 36 Ly Thuong Kiet Street, Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi until January 15, 2025.
