Themed ‘Biodiversity: Where flavours harmonise’, the exhibition displays more than 200 items such as spices, seeds (peanuts, beans, sesame), rice, coconut, tea, and coffee, which are cultivated and produced according to international standards.
The event is hosted by the Swiss-funded BioTrade Project, which has been implemented in Vietnam since 2010 and in Laos, Myanmar and Cambodia since 2020.
It aims at conserving biodiversity through the sustainable trade of natural ingredients, which focuses on increasing the competitiveness of local exporters and producers and developing livelihoods for rural populations.
The exhibition is being held within the framework of the ongoing Vietnam Foodexpo 2023, co-organised by the Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency under the Ministry and Trade of Vietnam, the Centre for Rural Economy Development (CRED), and the Helvetas Vietnam Organisation.
