VTV.vn - Power companies must carry out regular grid inspections and maintenance to keep operations safe and efficient, minimise localised overloads and reduce the risk of supply disrupting incidents.

Vietnam Electricity (EVN) has directed its regional power corporations to roll out a coordinated package of measures to maintain safe, stable supply while bolstering customer service and pushing energy conservation as temperatures soar.

Power companies must carry out regular grid inspections and maintenance to keep operations safe and efficient, minimise localised overloads and reduce the risk of supply disrupting incidents.

EVN also wants construction investment projects, major repairs, routine maintenance and periodic meter replacements limited during the dry season and peak heat spells. Units must strictly adhere to announced outage and restoration schedules. Critically, electricity supply must not be interrupted or curtailed for maintenance or renovation on days when temperatures exceed 35 degrees Celsius, except in force majeure cases.

EVN further told regional corporations to intensify customer care and outreach on efficient electricity use. Power companies are required to proactively disseminate guidance on rational consumption through mass media and issue warnings on the use of high-energy appliances during periods of extreme heat.

Customers are being encouraged to use EVN’s apps and websites to track daily electricity use and contact their provider immediately if they spot unusual surges so that timely support and inspections can be arranged./.
