The Payment Department under the State Bank of Vietnam and Tuoi Tre (Youth) Newspaper jointly held a press brief on May 26, to announce events under “Cashless Day 2023”.
Cashless Day, which started in 2019, is a day that non-cash payment means are encouraged during shopping and payment transactions, while consumers will enjoy preferential policies from credit institutions, payment intermediaries, retailers and service providers.
Four main activities will be held during Cashless Day, including a national seminar on data connection and smart payment to promote social development, a video contest on cashless payments, a “Cashless Town” festival and a “Big Boom” event.
In addition, various promotion activities will be provided for consumers and enterprises, offered by banks, shops, card organisations, e-wallets, retailers and others.
