Europe meets Asia in Contemporary Dance is an initiative of the European Union National Institutes for Culture (EUNIC), in cooperation with the Vietnam National Opera and Ballet (VNBO), and it will be coordinated again by the Goethe Institut.
The audience will experience a broad and varied spectrum ofcontemporary dance from different countries including France, Germany, Israel, Japan, first-timer Poland, and host Vietnam. In addition, there will be a co-production of Belgium and Vietnam. A special highlight of this year’s dance festival will be a performance by the internationally renowned Compagnie Sasha Waltz & Guests dance crew from Berlin at the Hanoi Opera House.
In Hanoi, the festival will mostly take place at Youth Theatre Hanoi, 11 Ngo Thi Nham Street. The German troupe will perform on October 2 and 3 at Hanoi Opera House, 1 Trang Tien Street.
In HCMC, the dance festival will feature performances by France and Belgium on October 2 and 3 at the Drama Theater, 30 Tran Hung Dao Street, District 1, and HCMC Dance College, 155 Nam Ky Khoi Nghia Street, District 3.
Free tickets are available from noon September 23 and can be found at Goethe Institut Hanoi, L’Espace and Japan Foundation in Hanoi, and HCMC Dance College in HCMC.
