In the first 6 months of 2016, only 6 batches of exported Vietnamese seafood to the EU were suspected of containing harmful chemicals, however these accounted for nearly half of food safety suspected seafood export violations to this market.
According to European Commission’s Directorate General for Health and Food Safety this poses the threat to ban Vietnam's seafood exports to the EU.
