State President Quang said Vietnam and Japan had great potential for co-operation. He praised Marubeni, who moved its business to Vietnam in early 1990 and has contributed to Vietnam’s economic growth ever since.
The corporation has been involved in energy projects such as the Thai Binh coal power project, Nghi Son 2, and Na Duong 2. Marubeni has also assisted children and educational development in Vietnam.
President Quang called on Japanese businesses to increase their investment in infrastructure, energy, and support industries, boost the transfer of technology, and help train human resources.
The state president promised to create a stable and more open investment environment for investors, including those from Japan.
