According to our sources, the rate of poor ethnic households is at 23.1 percent, 3.3 times higher than the national average rate. La Hu, Mang and Chut communities are among the poorest. Over 21 percent of ethnic citizens over 15 still cannot write and read the common tongue.
The government is expected to set new targets and implement a new plan for supporting these communities and narrowing the economic gap. The Prime Minister has demanded this investigation be conducted once every five years from now on.
