Vietnam and Kenya are two countries that have been benefiting from a programme entitled "Enhancing Opportunities for Women's Enterprises", which is run by the Netherlands Development Organisation. The program aims to promote the role of women in agricultural production and business management, as well as the application of smart agriculture for climate change adaptation.
Instead of just staying at home and doing housework like other Cham women, Hen can now join her husband in the daily production and sale of the family's asparagus. Both Hen and her spouse have been participating in the "Enhancing Opportunities for Women's Enterprises" programme for nearly a year. Thanks to the programme, they have learned how to manage time and apply technology to their family operation.
Training sessions like this not only help Cham women become more aware of their own roles, but it also helps men change their perspective.
