The memorandum focuses on raising people's awareness of international laws on fishing and the consequences of illegal fishing. The first trial was done in Quang Ngai province, one of the provinces with the most number of illegal fishing boats in Vietnam.
On the 23rd of October, the EU gave Vietnam a yellow card penalty for Vietnamese fish exports. If Vietnam doesn't solve illegal fishing, the EU may maintain the penalty or even issue a red card.
