Ecosoc countries discuss policy integration in implementation of SDGs

The Deputy Minister of Investment and Planning and the Vietnamese Ambassador to the UN represented Vietnam at the event.

At the event, Vietnam’s representatives shared the country’s experience in SDG implementation. Deputy Minister of Investment and Planning Đặng Huy Đông said Vietnam is constructing a master plan to implement the SDGs in Vietnam in accordance with the Socio-Economic Development Plan for 2016-2020. A favourable business environment, further equitisation of State assets and responsible business practices are among the important foci of the plan.

Other member countries highly appreciated Vietnam’s sharing of their experience. At the event, the participants also agreed to achieve SDGs by integrating socio- economic and environmental policies, and to develop these policies together.
