VTV.vn - For Earth Hour 2018, Vietnam will join many other countries around the world tonight, with the symbolic action of turning off unnecessary electrical devices for one hour, from 8:30 p.m to 9:30 p.m.

During Earth Hour last year, the country saved 471,000 kilowatt-hours of electricity, which is equivalent to around 43,000 US dollars.

Over the last 9 years, the total energy consumption in Vietnam has been reduced by 6%. This year, the Earth Hour campaign was launched with the slogan "Go More Green." It's one of the activities of the Vietnamese Government and people to reduce eight percent of greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 in order to adapt to climate change.
