The program will celebrate the National Assembly’s Resolution declaring Dong Nai as a city and the ceremony to receive the First Class Labor Order, the live epic art program “Dong Nai - The Spirit of the South Rising With the Nation”. It will take place at Long Hung Square and promises to be a grand artistic spectacle filled with emotion and epic spirit.
More than just a celebratory art performance, the program recounts Dong Nai’s history over the past 328 years, from the early days of opening the southern frontier and establishing Tran Bien Citadel to the resilient struggles during the two resistance wars and strong transformation into a centrally governed city in the new era.
Inspired by the famous inscription “Tran Bien - Dong Nai: A Thousand Years of Cultural Glory” by Vu Khieu, the program combines music, narration, live scenes, and modern stage technologyn. Each chapter represents a historical period and recreates important milestones in Dong Nai’s history through artistic and symbolic storytelling.
Audiences will travel back in time to witness Nguyen Huu Canh laying the foundation for the southern region, experience the patriotic spirit from the flames of Phu Rieng Do, and feel the heroic atmosphere of War Zone D. They will also be moved by the historic victories of the resistance war against the United States, including the Xuan Loc Campaign and the victory of Route 14 - Phuoc Long.
One of the highlights of the program is its large-scale live performance format featuring hundreds of professional performers and local participants. The open stage space along the Dong Nai River serves as a natural backdrop, allowing storytellers to convey history through vivid, emotional, and realistic imagery.
Alongside revisiting its heroic past, the program also dedicates an important chapter to portraying Dong Nai today as a dynamic urban center and one of the country’s major economic hubs. The city is embarking on a new journey with the aspirations of becoming a green, prosperous, civilized, and modern. Future-oriented 3D visuals of Dong Nai City, ranging from a modern airport to urban areas and riverside ecological spaces, will offer an optimistic vision of the road ahead.
“Dong Nai - The Spirit of the South Rising with the Nation” is therefore not only a tribute to previous generations, but also a powerful affirmation of the development aspirations of a land rich in tradition.
