VTV.vn - Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam has asked the Ministry of Health to ensure adequate vaccine supply to accelerate inoculation for adults in the Mekong Delta and Central Highlands provinces.

The request was made during a meeting with the eight provinces in the two above regions and the ministries and agencies concerned on November 5.

The Deputy PM also asked localities to prepare the necessary medicine to provide active and early treatment for COVID-19 patients.

He noted that after giving priority to Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Dong Nai, Binh Duong and Long An, it is now time to give priority to provinces in the southern region and the Central Highlands.

Dam stated that the Ministry of Health is responsible for providing sufficient vaccine and should work with the Ministry of Defence to deploy vaccination workers if localities need assistance.

According to the Deputy PM, once Vietnam has adopted the strategy of adapting safely to COVID-19, the pandemic monitoring system must be enhanced further to quickly detect any infections and provide early treatment.

Dam also asked the Ministries of Health and Defence to work on a collaboration mechanism to receive fully vaccinated Vietnamese people back into the country through land border gates.
