Under the Vietnamese seaport plan for the 2021-2030 period, Bai Goc Port is designed to serve the Hoa Tam Industrial Park, within the Nam Phu Yen Economic Zone.
The port will cover a total area of 220 hectares, including 134 hectares of land and 86 hectares of water surface, and have a depth of 20-25 metres.
After the inspection tour, Deputy PM Tran Hong Ha asked Phu Yen to have a detailed plan for the port’s sub-zones to carry out appropriate construction.
He noted that infrastructure in the region must be synchronously connected, especially transport infrastructure, to create a development ecosystem from industry to logistics at a low cost.
Deputy PM Ha added that the province should select new and environmentally safe technologies during the construction of the port.
He also asked the province to calculate the labour demand of the industrial parks in the Nam Phu Yen Economic Zone to plan and build social housing for workers.
According to Phu Yen Chairman Ta Anh Tuan, the development of Bai Goc Port and the Hoa Tam Industrial Park as the core of the Nam Phu Yen Economic Zone is crucial to Phu Yen’s socio-economic development, especially the marine economy.
