The competition has attracted the participation of 80 fliers from domestic clubs and Laos.
As scheduled, the male and female pilots will race from the top of Son Tra Mountain (693m above sea level), which is considered the most beautiful flying destination in Vietnam. The pilots and visitors will have the chance to contemplate the beauty of the mountains and Da Nang City from the panoramic view.
During the opening ceremony, the local people and visitors also had the opportunity to enjoy a unique paramotor performance.
Da Nang city also hosts an annual paragliding event to attract tourists during the summer holidays.
According to Nguyen Trong Thao, Deputy Director of Da Nang municipal Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the event aims to create a healthy playground for athletes and paragliding enthusiasts from across the country, thereby promoting the development of paragliding in Vietnam and enhancing integration with the paragliding sports activities of countries in Southeast Asia and the world, while at the same time, promoting friendly and hospitable Da Nang tourism photos to domestic and international friends.
The Da Nang Open Paragliding Championship 2019 runs until July 28.
