Da Nang city is the only Vietnamese destination on the list.
“Da Nang is third-largest city in Vietnam, behind capital Hanoi and business hub Ho Chi Minh City. Were it not for the skyscrapers, bridges, malls, endless stream of motorbikes and the whir of air conditioners, modern day Da Nang could easily be 1960s Da Nang”, the magazine wrote.
In 2017, Da Nang hosted 6.6 million visitors, an annual increase of 19%, and earned more than VND19.4 trillion (US$853.6 million) from tourism, up 20.6% from 2016 and fulfilling 104.9% of the set target.
The online marketplace and hospitality service Airbnb also announced a list of the world’s top 10 destinations for 2018, in which Da Nang ranked fifth with booking surges of up to 255%.
