Organisers said there have been over 2 million visitors in just 2 days. At the weekend, the visitor numbers soared into the tens of thousands.
The number of pilgrims is expected to be much higher on the main festival day on the 10th of the lunar month. Police in Phu Tho Province said security forces have been deployed 24/7 to guide visitors and deal with anything that could affect security and order.
Director of the Management Board of the relic site Nguyen Duy Anh says the Board has actively worked with relevant agencies to ensure safety and convenience for visitors.
The festival is being held from April 21 to 25 (from the sixth to the tenth of Lunar March) by the Phu Tho provincial People’s Committee in coordination with Thai Nguyen, Binh Duong, Quang Nam and Kien Giang provinces. A wide range of activities are held to educate the patriotic tradition and pay tribute to founders of the nation.
