The section runs 49.3 kilometres linking Nghe An and Ha Tinh Provinces, at an estimated cost of 11,158 billion VND (490.9 million USD), of which the government will provide 6,068 billion VND while investors will mobilise the remaining 5,090 billion USD.
The lenders for the project include BIDV, Agribank, Vietcombank, and Bac A Bank, which will provide a total of 3,560 billion for a period of 14 years.
The project will be implemented under a build-operate-transfer contract and construction is expected to be completed within three years.
Along the expressway, there will be the 1,131-metre-long Than Vu Tunnel and the 4,000-metre-long Hung Duc Bridge. The first stage of the section will feature four lanes, with a maximum speed of 80 kilometres per hour.
Dien Chau-Bai Vot is part of Vietnam’s north-south expressway project.
