The charming capital captures the hearts of visitors when it ranked second, just behind Da Lat in the list of 5 most popular destinations for tourists this year, including Da Lat dreaming city, the thousand-year-old Hanoi Capital, mountainous Sapa Town, Hoi An Ancient Town, and the beach city of Da Nang.
Hanoi - the perfect retreat for couples with opposite interests
According to Booking.com, the beautiful part of Hanoi is its mixture of old and new. “So, if you and your partner fall into the “opposites attract” category and have different hobbies and interests, then worry not because the thousand-year-old capital city of Hanoi provides the perfect backdrop for beautiful contrasts with its harmonious blending of modernity and age-old traditions,” it recommends.
For the old soul, it suggests, travelers can check out the city’s countless French colonial buildings, spend a couple of hours at the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum or wander around the beautiful Hoan Kiem Lake.
And for the other half who loves a modern twist, they could drive around the famous West Lake, do a craft beer tasting session and then end the day with a romantic dinner at one of Hanoi’s luxurious restaurants. All of these great options would enhance the romantic of any trip of love.
Nguyen Phuong Anh, a traveler from Ho Chi Minh City said that walking around Hoan Kiem Lake and nearby Hanoi's Old Quarter Area will be the first-ever thing that she and her lover do when they travel to Hanoi.
“I love to visit Hanoi’s iconic lake, the Hoan Kiem Lake, all the time of the day, whether it is early in the morning, late afternoon, or at night. Its tranquil space allows lovers to chat for hours without any interruption meanwhile its romantic vibe is very suitable for sweet hugs and kisses,” she told The Hanoi Times.
Meanwhile, immersing themselves in the tranquility while watching the sunset on the windy West Lake is also an interesting choice for couples. Covering about 500 hectares of the water surface, the largest natural lake of Hanoi provides many corners to enjoy the huge orange sun gradually going down.
“The colors of the sky changes by the minute, sometimes red and other times pink or multi-color, making the lake so romantic with the silhouettes of young couples who are hand in hand strolling around the place,” according to Phuong Anh.
