Coursera announced several new initiatives to improve access to high-quality education in Vietnam and better serve the local needs of learners and institutions in the country. These efforts include launching a large catalog of learning content in Vietnamese and AI-powered features to make online learning more personalized and interactive. Now, top courses like Supervised Machine Learning: Regression & Classification from Stanford University, AI for Everyone from DeepLearning.AI, and Python for Data Science, AI & Development from IBM, which have until recently been available only in English, are going to be accessible to anyone who speaks Vietnamese.
Learners in Vietnam are turning to online education at an accelerated pace, with 1.8 million registered learners and 22% year-over-year (YoY) growth on Coursera. As demand for digital skills grows, Vietnam is also seeing a sharp rise in GenAI learning. Enrollments for GenAI courses in Vietnam have reached 152,000 – a 400% YoY increase – with one enrollment every four minutes in 2025.
"Vietnam’s rapid progress in digital transformation and education reform reflects their bold vision to become a regional innovation hub," said Greg Hart, CEO of Coursera. "We’re proud to support this ambition by expanding access to high-quality education in Vietnamese. Using the power of AI, we’ve translated more than 3,000 courses, giving learners in Vietnam unprecedented access and flexibility to develop digital skills for the AI era."
Coursera’s new initiatives align with Vietnam’s Vision 2030–2050 and the National Strategy on Research, Development and Application of Artificial Intelligence, which aim to raise the Gross Enrollment Ratio, integrate digital learning into mainstream education, and accelerate national digital transformation. By expanding access and aligning education with workforce needs, Coursera is supporting Vietnam’s ambitions to lead in innovation and build a globally competitive talent pool.
