The event was organised by the ecosystem of connection and orientation for young people named "Youth +" cooperated with Hanoi National University’s Centre for Knowledge Transfer and Start-up Assistance.
The contest aims to respond to and increase young people's awareness of the United Nations' 17 sustainable development goals as well as their own responsibility to society, while also providing support to useful initiatives. This year, the contest will focus on goal No. 9 "Build resilient infrastructure, promote sustainable industrialization and foster innovation".
According to Ha Tien Dat, Head of the Contest’ organising board, with many diverse activities for contestants, the contest will help young people to improve their knowledge of technology, hone their soft skills and improve the awareness of each person for the development of society. The contest is also expected to establish a bridge between the young generation and mentors, youth organisations, businesses, NGOs and initiative funds.
“Social Innovation Launch 2021” is expected to take place from May to October 2021, with three rounds of competition, open to young people aged 18-25.
The total prize value of the contest is VND 200 million. The first prize will have the opportunity to participate in the international start-up competition.
According to Vuong Quoc Thang, Director of the Centre for Knowledge Transfer and Start-up Assistance - Hanoi National University said that the competition not only directs young people to start-up activities, but is also considered as a supporting launch for forming and developing social initiatives and projects and actively contributing to the community, thereby contributing to the development of creative resources for the country.
