Content related to COVID-19 epidemic control work to be included in NA Resolution from its first ses

The draft Government’s report on solutions to prevent and combat COVID-19 and a verification report of the NA’s Social Affairs Committee on the matter was presented as part of the first session of the 15th National Assembly on the morning of July 24.

Earlier, NA Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue assigned the Government and relevant ministries and branches to coordinate with the NA’s Social Affairs Committee to report on the preparation and supplementation of contents related to COVID-19 epidemic prevention and control to the NA’s Resolution at its first session.

The top legislator said that at the meeting on July 24 morning, all 474 NA deputies agreed to allow the Government and Prime Minister perform urgent tasks related to the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

Accordingly, the Government proposed to the NA six elements, including allowing the Government and Prime Minister decide on the transfer of funding sources with the approved estimates, changes and the transfer of funding sources in the budget but not in the estimate for epidemic prevention and control work; an advance budget in case of exceeding the approved estimate; and localities being supported by the central government in case of need.

After listening and commenting on the Government's report and the verification report of the NA’s Social Affairs Committee, NA Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue agreed with the scope of the adjustments within the framework of COVID-19 prevention and control.

The NA will also allow the Government and Prime Minister decide on the contents of COVID-19 epidemic prevention and control work as prescribed by law, with their specific application time until the end of 2022.
