From 1961 to 1971, US forces sprayed millions of litres of herbicides over vast areas of southern Vietnam, most of which was Agent Orange. The chemical has caused serious health issues among veterans and their descendants. In the central province of Quang Tri, over 8 thousand households with 15 thousand victims were exposed to Agent Orange. The conference discussed solutions to provide support for people affected by dioxin. It also highlighted the essential role of international organisations and communities in development assistance programmes.
