Today (December 20), the grand celebration of the 80th anniversary of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 - December 22, 2024) and the 35th anniversary of the All People's National Defense Day (December 22, 1989 - December 22, 2024) will be held at the National Convention Center in Hanoi. The event is organized by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the National Assembly, the President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, and the Central Military Commission in cooperation with the Ministry of National Defense.
The ceremony will be attended by current and former leaders of the Party, State, and military, veteran revolutionaries, Heroic Vietnamese Mothers, and military generals from various periods. A highlight of the celebration will be a historical artistic performance, featuring remarkable musical and dance acts that encapsulate the founding, struggles, and victories of the Vietnam People's Army. The program will emphasize the vital role of the Vietnam People's Army in the nation’s journey of building and safeguarding the homeland.

Earlier, on December 19, at the National Convention Center in Hanoi, Lieutenant General Trương Thiên Tô, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army (VPA), presided over the final inspection of the preparations for the Commemoration Ceremony at the National Convention Center in Hanoi. The inspection was attended by leaders of agencies and units under the General Department of Politics, the General Staff of the VPA, and representatives from various news and media outlets.
The ceremony will be broadcast live on Vietnam Television (VTV1), the Voice of Vietnam, and the National Defense Television Channel at 9:00 AM on December 20, 2024.
