Colourful Hanoi celebrates National Day
VTV.vn - In the cool autumn weather, all streets in the capital city are decorated with flamboyant flags to celebrate National Day. No more noisy scenes or traffic jams on the streets, relaxed people enjoy a peaceful Hanoi on National Day.
The red flag with yellow star flies on the historic Ba Dinh Square, where 72 years ago President Ho Chi Minh read the Declaration of Independence, giving birth to the Democratic Republic of Vietnam (now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam).
Local people relax and exercise in the early morning at Hoan Kiem Lake.
Street vendors from the suburbs go into the city center to start a new day.
Cultural activities, sports and entertainment are held in many places in Hanoi during National Day.
The VTV International Cycling Race attracts crowds and visitors.
Foreign tourists visit Hanoi’s Old Quarter on National Day.
