Cold weather hits Cửa Đại beach

Cửa Đại beach has suffered  more severe erosion and businesses on the beach are under threat. Sea water is also threatening to flood residential areas in the UNESCO World Heritage old town of Hoi An. People have been trying to cope with the waves by arranging sand bags. Quang Nam Province has proposed building dykes with a total budget of over 2.2 million USD to prevent erosion, with the government agreeing to provide some 2 million USD for the project.
