10 crewmen on the ship coded 97.299 were left stranded at sea following an engine malfunction. Receiving a distress signal from the fishermen, the Coast Guard deployed ship 9002 for rescue. The mission experienced unfavourable weather conditions and took 17 hours to reach the stranded boat. Both ships made it to the 48th Fleet Port of the Border Guard in Quy Nhon city, with all crew members unharmed.
