Cold spell to hit North, cause rains in central, southern regions

The northern region of Vietnam is predicted to experience a fresh cold spell from November 28 to December 8, according to the National Centre for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting.

It is forecast to cause the temperature nationwide to be 0.5 – 1 degrees Celsius lower than the annual average, especially in the northern mountainous region.

It will also trigger moderate to heavy rains in the central and southern regions, even over 500mm in certain areas.

In the capital city of Hanoi, the temperature is forecast to drop at night and early morning, with days from November 30 to December 8 seeing the lowest temperature
