VTV.vn - The Central Highlands just entered the peak dry season but already suffered from a serious lack of water. It is forecast that the drought will continue to worsen as the provinces are affected by El Nino.

According to the Hydrometeorological Station of the Central Highlands, some dams have seen lower water levels compared with previous years. Ka Nak hydroelectric reservoir in Gia Lai now only reaches 10% of capacity.

Rainfalls are forecast to be less and this year's rainy season will come later. The Central Highlands Meteorological and Hydrological Station predicts prolonged water shortages to occur in some areas.
