To counter this issue, the forest rangers organised a conference on protecting forest resources in the Central Highlands for the 2016-2020 period. Rangers from 5 Central Highlands provinces gathered at the event to analyse the cause of the rapid deforetation and discussed solutions. One of the key ideas was to involve the local communities in protecting forests. The Central Highlands currently has the largest forested land in Vietnam with over 5 million hectares.
