During one week, leaders from 193 countries and territories will discuss solutions to deal with global issues including conflicts, poverty, refugee crisis and climate change. Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh leaded the Vietnamese delegation to attend the event. Addressing the event, President of the General Assembly Peter Thomson stressed that the world is facing the worst humanitarian and refugee crisis since WWII. Leaders are calling upon the international community to join hands to deal with this crisis. The attendees have agreed to ratify a political declaration, which merge the International Organisation for Migration into an organisation of United Nations. Vietnam's representative will have a speech in the next few days.
