The penalty is about 1000 USD and their license to operate a fishing vessel will be revoked for four and a half months.
The nine ships sanctioned went fishing in the Spratly Islands waters but did not maintain the operation of their cruise monitoring equipment.
The investigation results showed that the tracking devices of these fishing boats had problems and lost connection with the authorities for more than 10 days. However, the captains did not bring their ships to any wharves to fix it but continued fishing until the end of their planned voyage.
