VTV.vn - Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister Men Sam An on November 4 presented VND500 million (some US$21,570) to aid disaster-hit people in Vietnam’s central region.

The money has been channelled through authorities in the Mekong Delta province of Long An, which borders Cambodia’s Svay Rieng and Prey Veng provinces.

The financial assistance was donated by the Deputy PM, the Vietnam - Cambodia Friendship Association, the Cambodian Red Cross, and the authorities and the youth federation in Cambodia’s Svay Rieng province.

At the handover ceremony at Long An’s Binh Hiep international gate, Men Sam An extended her sympathy to people in the central region, hoping they and the country would soon overcome their difficulties and losses and stabilise their lives and boost their socio-economic development.

Receiving the donation, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Pham Tan Hoa expressed his thanks to the Cambodian Government, people and Deputy PM Men Sam An for the support.
