It is the sixth of 17 monuments across Cambodia that have been upgraded under a project funded by the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense. The upgrades are in preparation for the celebration of the 50th anniversary of bilateral diplomatic ties.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Long Savann, Vice President of the Solidarity Front for the Development of Cambodia's Motherland's branch in Preah Vihear said the Cambodian people always remembered the great contributions of Vietnamese to the development of the country.
The monuments are the symbol of the everlasting Cambodian-Vietnamese solidarity and friendship, he said, calling on young Cambodians to preserve them.
