Call for blood donors extended as blood banks face shortage after Tet

VTV.vn - The call for blood donations by the National Institute of Haematology and Blood Transfusion in Hanoi has been extended to March 7.

Those who qualify, especially those with blood types O and A, can donate blood at the following addresses: Number 26 Lương Ngọc Quyến street, Hoàn Kiếm district, number 132 Quan Nhân street, Thanh Xuân district, and number 10, Alley 122, Láng street, Đống Đa district. COVID-19 affected the schedules of blood donation activities before and after the Lunar New Year.

As a result, the institute has only received a few hundred blood units each day, while at least 1,200-1,500 units are needed for treatment per day. The institute also has to supply blood to localities.
