Hanoi is set to plant more than 300,000 trees this year. The intersection of Ring Road 3 and Hanoi – Hải Phòng Expressway was selected as the starting point for the planting of new trees and will take place simultaneously in the districts of Hanoi.
The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment has developed a project to restore and develop a green tree system nationwide, which includes a treemap database of Vietnam that will be accessed through a smartphone application.
The database will include information on species, location, planting process, and management in order to help localities better implement the project of planting 1 billion trees in the next 5 years.
