This is the first time that Ca Na General Port has welcomed a vessel with a capacity of over 50,000 tonnes.
It marks a significant step in making Ca Na a hub for goods in the south-central coastal region and the Central Highlands region.
Ca Na is included on the list of major seaports in central Vietnam that can accommodate large vessels of over 50,000 tonnes, helping to relieve the pressure on other ports in Ho Chi Minh City and the southeastern region.
Covering a total area of 85.5 hectares, Ca Na General Port is invested in by Trung Nam Group and has been in operation since April 2022.
Ninh Thuan Province is building various projects around the port, including the Ca Na Industrial Park, the Ca Na LNG Power Centre and roads linking the North-South Expressway and National Highway 1.
Such projects are expected to bolster the development of the marine economy in Ninh Thuan Province.
According to experts, Ca Na General Port will act as a seaport and a new-generation industrial and logistics centre for Ninh Thuan and the wider region.
