At the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Uong Chu Luu highly appreciated the efforts of local authorities and people of all ethnic groups in Ha Giang province in promoting and preserving the values of the natural landscape of Dong Van Karst Plateau.
He asked the local authorities to attach greater priority to boosting tourism and high-quality agriculture, improving transport infrastructure, preserving indigenous culture and ethnic groups, enhancing rural building, and maintaining defence and security in border areas.
Meanwhile, the buckwheat flower festival themed "Flower of the rock plateau" is being held to honor the beauty of flowers on the rocky mountains, especially buckwheat flowers.
This is the 6th year the festival is being held and has attracted a large number of domestic and foreign tourists. Also within the framework of the festival, several events have been organized such as the off-road bicycle race, the Food Culture Festival, and contests such as a baking competition, national costume competition, and the Mong ethnic cultural festival.
