According to journalist Phan Ngoc Tien, Head of Sports Department, Vietnam Television, Head of VTV's delegation at SEA Games 30, in addition to the sports that are broadcast by the host country, VTV has plan to air live events not covered by the host country.
In addition to the live broadcast, the VTV Sports Department will try to carry live broadcast of the pre-match and post-match press conferences on the website thethao.vtv.vn and VTV Sports application. At each event, the production crew will have innovative ways to cover in order not to bore the audience. Particularly, football scores will be continuously updated and goals of matches played at the same time of the match under live transmission will also be on air. If it is not possible to watch live matches on VTV channels, viewers can watch the full match updates and goal clips on the website thethao.vtv.vn and VTV Sports app.
To the question that many people are interested in: whether VTV will broadcast live E-sport? Journalist Phan Ngoc Tien said: “E-sport will air live by the host country, so it is included in our transmission schedule, especially matches of Vietnamese players.”
SEA Games will be held in many locations of the Philippines. Clark and Subic cities hosts 17 sports and disciplines; Manila hosts 23 and South Luzon, 8. A huge challenge for the work of VTV journalists is the traffic congestion in the Philippines. Reporters will definitely find it hard to move from one place to another. However, with experience from previous SEA Games, VTV Sports Department has carefully prepared the production plan through inquiring the venues when attended twice the SEA Games Television Conference.
In addition to commentary programs and live broadcast of competitions, VTV Sports also produces parallel programs at SEA Games 30 to give the audiences multi-dimensional perspectives and hot information. In particular, VTV Sports Department will broadcast live all matches of the Vietnamese women's football team, and at the same time send a crew to update information about the team during the tournament.
Viewers can watch the SEA Games 30 competitions on VTV6, VTV2 and VTV5 and VTV5 Central Highlands channels or watch online on VTV app systems such as VTV Sports App and website: thethao.vtv. VN.
