The cyber attack was conducted from 21-24 in collaboration with police from 11 European countries. During the campaign, Europol has brought down several IS servers, shut down a large number of accounts and websites operated by its media branch.
A total of 26,000 IS-related information content and online videos posted on social media were removed. In addition, Europol also arrested a Spainish suspect who was one of the coordinators of IS's online activities. Earlier, Europol announced it had partnered with the nine largest Internet platforms including Google, Twitter, Instagram and Telegram to fight against IS online activities.
