On Wednesday, Reuters found that Boracay's waters were no longer green with algae, while a longer two-kilometre sewage pipe has been constructed in Bolabog beachfront to keep treated sewage water from spilling onto the island's beaches.
Hotel employees are putting finishing touches to their business facades, while retail store staff are busy counting stock in preparation of an influx of returning tourists. However, the tourism ministry said rehabilitation work will continue beyond Friday and more than half of the hotels in the island will not be allowed to re-open due to pending environment and local permits.
