The HCMC Book Fair will be organized by the municipal Department of Information and Communications, Saigon Cultural Products Corporation, HCMC Book Distribution Corporation (FAHASA), HCMC General Publishing House, Youth Publishing House, and HCMC Culture and Art Publishing House.
The biennial event is a festival for book enthusiasts and an opportunity to promote reading culture among local citizens. It is also a chance for local and foreign book publishers and distributors to maintain and build business links.
Participating enterprises consider the book fair a chance to speed up sales and introduce new books. They will offer large-scale promotion programs at the event.
Organizers said participating companies posted combined sales of VND36 billion (US$1.6 million) at the eighth book fair in 2014 and VND30 billion at the seventh event.
