Binh Dinh province to remove EC's yellow card

This morning, a delegation led by Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) Nguyen Xuan Cuong had a working session with Binh Dinh Province to implement some of the tasks of the Fisheries Law of 2017 and respond to the European Commission's (EC) warning against illegal fishing,

Minister Nguyen Xuan Cuong asked Binh Dinh Province and other central coastal provinces to further promote the education of fishermen and seafood exporters about Directive 45 and Fisheries Law 2017.

The fishing fleets need to be regulated and re-organized towards sustainable and responsible methods. Ship owners are requested to commit to not violating fishery laws. Functional forces shall be strengthened to inspect 100% of vessels coming in and out of the docks while traceability needs to be ensured.
