Binh Dinh enhances fishermen's awareness

This has made many fishermen defy the dangers and laws and fish illegally. As one of the provinces with the highest number of fishermen violating laws on fishing grounds, Binh Dinh Province, is now making every effort to enhance fishermen's awareness.

For the first nine months of 2016, Binh Dinh Province had 22 fishing vessels and 175 fishermen caught violating the law. The province has intensified measures to cope with this problem. Fishing vessels are now installed with long-range positioning devices so that the authorities can track their locations and fishermen can detect fish sources.

Binh Dinh Province's Department of Agriculture and Rural Development also asked for cooperation from the police and border guards in order to minimise the number of fishermen violating the law.
