The ceremony was attended by Politburo members: permanent member of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee (CPVCC) Secretariat Tran Quoc Vuong, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh; Secretary of the CPVCC and Head of CPVCC Commission for Communication and Education Vo Van Thuong; and Secretary of the CPVCC and Head of CPVCC Commission for Economic Affairs Nguyen Van Binh.
Ever since the contest was launched two years ago, the steering committee and organising boards have received thousands of literary, artistic and journalistic works from artists and journalists both at home and abroad.
The entries included a variety of media formats including prose, poetry, plays and literary criticism, paintings, photography, music, cinematography and dance.
A wide range of journalistic works from print newspapers, radio and television were also entered in the contest.
Eight A, 34 B, 67 C and 55 consolation prizes were awarded at the ceremony.
The event was held as part of the activities to celebrate the 128th birth anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh.
