ASEAN's development and Vietnam's impact

VTV.vn - The Association of South East Asian Nations or ASEAN was established on August 8, 1967, by five member countries namely Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand.

After 50 years, ASEAN has brought together all 10 countries in Southeast Asia and has affirmed its important role and position in the international community. It has also brought great benefits to its member countries and has become an indispensable partner of major countries around the world. Let’s review some of the milestones throughout the development of ASEAN, as well as the contributions Vietnam has made since joining the organization.

Vietnam's top priority in 2020 will be to contribute to ASEAN's successful implementation of the ASEAN Vision 2025 goals.
